StartUp Britain is a new campaign by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, launched on 28th March 2011. Designed to celebrate, inspire and accelerate enterprise in the UK, it has the full backing of the Prime Minister, the Chancellor and HM Government as well as leading UK entrepreneurs.
Story of Yellow Octopus Ltd has been used in a StartUp Britain campaign as one of over 50 Inspiring stories of successful entrepreneurs.
Our company was invited not only to be part of this new StartUp Britain initiative as an inspiring story of recent years but also as a part of supporting StartUp Britain Jack, the founder of Yellow Octopus, has personally pledged mentoring time to support early stage businesses. He commented “Being fortunate to achieve success in my own business I am very keen to help the next generation of successful high growth businesses”.
Jack’s business guru Richard Branson who is one of the most recognised faces supporting StartUp Britain commented “Building a dynamic entrepreneurial culture is one of the key characteristics of a healthy economy. A society which encourages new business and recognises the importance of start-ups and small firms will be successful on the global stage”.
Welcoming the campaign, British Prime Minister Mr Cameron said “the people best placed to help business are the people who do business”.
